On September 10, 2025, Aligned partnered with the Data Quality Campaign (DQC) to host a webinar introducing Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDSs) and their role in aligning education and workforce priorities. SLDSs help states connect data across systems, inform policy, and provide valuable insights for students, families, and employers.

The session covered what SLDSs are, why they matter, and how Kansas and Missouri can strengthen their systems. Kansas does not yet have a full SLDS, while Missouri’s existing system lacks legislative backing and broader public use. Policy recommendations included codifying systems into law, building independent governance, and increasing transparency to ensure SLDSs deliver value to stakeholders.
